Genitourinary Medicine

Endoscopy is now a thing of the past as I move on to pastures new. For the next four weeks I shall be enjoying the challenges set for me at the Genitourinary Medicine Clinic at the local hospital (sexual health). Unfortunately for the purposes of my blog, confidentiality in this department is such that I am unable to discuss a brief description of the patients diagnosis/prognosis. However, I shall no doubt learn some interesting things, information of which I shall divulge within the limits of the confidentiality policy I signed this morning.

Today was certainly interesting as I got to grips with how the GUM clinic operates, and also what herpes simplex happens to look like...

Needless to say, I was somewhat shocked to discover one of the lads in my youth group on an NHS poster advertising the wearing of condoms! I have a feeling it's going to be an eye-opening four weeks!
